I was moving my parked car in mississauga (near erin mills town centre) when i saw a star in the clear cloudless western sky, which i’ve seen on other days too. the time was close to sunrise, so the horizon was orange-reddish. below and to the right of the star i noticed what appeared to be a “hanging”/hovering dark gray/black object high in the sky. unfortunately i didn’t have the opportunity to take video of the sighting. it was thin vertical cigar/”i” shaped, with possibly slight curvatures along the object (it was too far to tell, i had to squint). after 2-3 minutes, it slowly started to descend a little to the bottom + to the right, and as it did, it changed shape to something more sphere/orb-like, it changed colour to an intense orange/red (like the horizon), and it seemed to be rotating/vibrating/pulsating. within about a minute, it seemed to get smaller/disintegrate/disappear into thin air. there was no evident noise from the object throughout the sighting.
while it was in its original cigar state, i was confident that there would be some sort of explanation to the sighting – later i figured maybe it was a drone. however, the change in shape + colour left me a little baffled. i thought the colour change was due to a reflection of the horizon, but minutes after the sighting i saw a planes/birds near the horizon and none of them reflected the horizon’s colour in a similar way as the object.
