On the 18th of November 2014 at around 22:30 I was returning home from walking my dog when I noticed a small light moving across the sky in the South West. I initially thought this light was a satellite due to the linear movement and speed that it was travelling. The light seemed to be about the same size as a star and I couldn’t tell how far away it was. After almost a minute the light stopped and stayed perfectly still. I tried to take a photo of it but it was too far away. I continued walking and kept looking back at the light to see whether it had moved. A few minutes later, once I had got home, I saw the light split into three seperate lights and again stay perfectly still and forming the points of a triangle. I have lived in Measham for a number of years and, although we regularly get flight traffic due to nearby East Midlands Airport, I have never seen anything like this. I called my wife outside and pointed out what I was seeing. She tried to capture the lights on video but they were too small to see. After a few more minutes the lights shot off across the sky at incredible speed in different directions. They travelled in a perfectly straight line and had vanished beneath the horizon in about three seconds.
