Residents of Segovia and Remedios were bewildered around 9 o’clock in the evening by a phenomenon looking like a static red fireball in the middle of the dark sky.

This region of Northeastern Antioquía is rich not only in gold, but also in stories of witchcraft and sorcerers, so local residents would find nothing odd in having a “supernatural” force making itself visible.

Yen Milea Bran, who took photos and made cellphone recordings like many others, said that her family and neighbors took to the streets – in the La Cruzada district in Remedios – to see a sort of “very bright star” that hung in the heavens for some three minutes before disappearing,.

“It looked like a very large, shining star, lighting everything around it. But when recorded with the cellphone, it wasn’t captured the way one’s eyes perceived it. It looked like a fireball and in some images it displayed hypnotic circles,” added the young woman.

Many hypotheses have been put forth about the phenomenon, which had never been seen in the skies of northeastern Antioquía.

“Many say it could be a UFO. Others say it could be a portal to another world. Others say it is surely a sign that the end is near and that we should repent, and others say that it has something to do with astronomy, that a star had surely exploded into a fireball,” Yen Milenia explained.

The images have already been inspected in the Planetarium of Antioquía’s capital city, and have yet to ascertain its true nature. Angela Perez, the astronomical coordinator, noted that the possibilities range from unidentified flying objects, to an optic phenomenon with the lens or a fire balloon.

“Objects that cannot be identified are UFOs. However, the term is generally associated with spaceships and other things, but this cannot be said to be the answer until any other possibility has been discarded. Let’s say that given the image’s brightness, it could be one of those little balloons that get sent aloft with a candle inside,” Pérez explained.

The fact of the matter is that some residents intend to be vigilant these days to see if the mysterious phenomenon stages a return.

Triangular-Shaped UFO Flying Low Over Columbia, Tennessee

Triangular-Shaped UFO Flying Low Over Columbia, Tennessee

By Roger Marsh

A Tennessee witness at Columbia reported watching a slow moving, triangle-shaped UFO with bright white and red lights, according to testimony in Case 73483 from the Mutual UFO Network (MUFON) witness reporting database.

The witness was walking to his mini van parked on his driveway to pick up his girlfriend from workwhen he saw three “incredibly bright lights” moving toward him.

“The lights were moving parallel to Highway 31 from the north towards the south,” the witness stated.“The object was moving so slow and the lights were so bright it made me stop instantly in my tracks.”

The witness could not see the body of the craft, but could tell it was large and quickly became curious how it was moving so slow without falling.

“The three bright lights/object were heading behind the roof tops of the homes to my left so I went and got into the van, pointing north, waiting for it to reappear on my side of roof tops. Well, that took a tiny bit longer than expected. It either slowed down more or stopped for a brief second, but finally crossed over the roof tops back into view. Once the object was in my sight again I could start to see the bottom of the object and it started making a banked turn.”

The witness said that looking at the bottom of the craft was a complete surprise.

“It was totally lit up with multiple large, bright lights, and I could see a perfect triangular outline of the object.”

Shape-Shifting UFO Photographed Over Bogotá

Shape-Shifting UFO Spotted Over Bogotá 4-12-15

By Richard Emblin

. . . On Sunday, April 12, I stepped out onto my balcony, which faces East, and is located in the Rosales neighborhood of Bogotá. As is a bad habit, I enjoy a morning coffee with a cigarette. It was a grey, Sunday morning, the streets were empty, and washed with a light drizzle from the night, which had passed. As I looked up and beyond the red walls of my barrio, I saw a black round object rise vertically into the sky, from behind a ridge of the Cerros Orientales. At a possible distance of 5 kms, the shape was rounded and appeared like a spot against the uniformity of grey, which was blanketing this capital of eight million.

As a frustrated commercial airline pilot, I know my planes. Up close and at great distances. I know how to distinguish the sound of an Airbus A 340 to a Boeing 777. I have studied flight maps, flight routes and flightaware.

I understand these machines. I admire them. There was no fuselage, no winglets, no sound. This was no plane.

The black dot began to unravel itself. It stopped under the melancholic canopy of cloud and darted south, where it shifted on its side. I abandoned the cigarette for my connected iPhone. It said 7:55 am. I tried to look for the object in the sky. It was hovering West an moving between altitudes, over the Chapinero neighborhood of Bogotá and which sits at 2,600 meters above sea level.

The spot was not visible on the screen of my iPhone. I tried it look for it again with my eyes, but the black object had shifted in the sky above my building. I though it might head towards the airport, so I grabbed my Nikon 300s and tried to remember where I keep a 500 mm lens, which I use only when there is a full moon. And not even. . . .
