While walking with a friend (she is deaf) we noticed two bright orange lights in the sky about 60 degrees in the sky heading ne – sw. we were making comments about how low the crescent moon looked in the sky and i had taken pgotos earlier as it was so noce looking. the temperature was around -5c with winds around 20 km hour withbsome low snow clouds but generally clear while walking up town roads covered in snow towards main street (stephenville). the two objects did not seem high in the sky (<1500 m) and were heading ne to sw over the atlantic (bay st george) and maybe a few km away from our point of view. the objects did not have any sound, they did not have any flame or smoke trails visible. the objects were very bright orange fire coloured and remained bright until they left sight (too far away). ì got video of the objects half way through the sighting. the objects made a fairly uniform flight path although slowed at different pace independent of each other, hovered without movement then continued the flight path. i could hear a propeller plane at the near airport with its engines in idle whos direction was easily heard as our main steet is very close to the tarmac. the lights travelled the visible horizon in about a minute. i lost sight when the lights faded from being too far away.
The object appeared in view about 20:50 just to the left of the moon in the sw sky. object was stationary at first and was same brightness as the iss which had passed overhead about 10 – 15 minutes before. it was orange in color and began to move across the sky from the sw to the ne going directly overhead. i observed the movement in a straight line path for approximately 2-3 minutes until it flickered and disappeared completely. the space station had passed in a similar path but was visible for a longer period.
I was on my balcony, 5th floor looking out at the sky. from the tree line, direction of north west i saw a bright red bulb moving towards us , travelling ne. it was high up in the sky. we live close to the airport and overhead planes are frequent however never this shape, brightness, color. we continued to watch it come closer overhead when we noticed a second orb-sphere travelling behind the first at a reasonable distance, also red. then came a third, then fourth. in total more than 10 passed over us, in what seemd like a straight line, equal distance from each other. pulsating red then bright white, then red. even though there were a number of them they did mot make any sound – the sphere’s moved at a steady pace.
i was shocked by what i saw and after the 6,7th orb i ran in to get the phone to capture a video. my phone wouldn’t co-operate but i did manage some video. there was a second witness with me on the balcony.
As i drove into my driveway just before 9:00 pm out in the talavera desert on the other side of the mountains of white sands missile range. a triangular outline caught my eye looking west. i was in the air force and am able to identify aircraft. the object was large and stationary, holding the same position throughout the sighting. it appeared to be reflecting the light from new mexico state university stadium which was lit up for an event as it was low on the horizon. from my viewing position the “a mountain” blocks the city lights so i had an unobstructed view with no light pollution. after about 20 seconds the outline was no longer visible slowly dimming and an orange red light emerged, dimly at first then brightly. the light dimmed again with nothing visible then after another 40 seconds the light began to brighten in the same position and same color. the light had increased in size and was visible for another 20-30 seconds then dimmed and never reappeared.
there were 3 witness in my vehicle all of which saw the light and shape. i looked away to grab my camera and during that time one of the witness said it rotated, i did not see the object move. i turned my camera to the object but the batter was dead. i don’t believe the battery was affected by anything other than my own fault for not charging it.
At 3.25-30am my partner woke me up to observe a strange star, it was orangey red, (reddish orange if you will) pulsating it would shine bright for up to 45seconds then dim out for up to 3 minutes, almost long enough to question ever seeing a light to begin with. only to begin glowing back to a brilliant orange, almost white light, for again, roughly 45 seconds and then dim, it was low, low enough certainly to not be mistaken for a star, i would pass it off as a satalite if it moved.. but it just pulsated for a total of 20 minutes before just fading to black,
|The former director of the Pentagon program dedicated to investigating possible sightings of UFOs explains in the importance of continuing with this type of program.|
W Radio: Mr Luis Elizondo, good morning and thank you very much for being with us at W radio.
I would like to ask you if you as an official at the Pentagon, had enough proof, or solid proof, that could lead you to believe that there’s life outside of the Earth?
Luis Elizando: Thank you very much for having me on your program. What we looked at on our program was two fold – what was it and how it worked?
As a result of our analysis and ten years worth of study and information, leads us to believe that these phenomena are not from any one country that we know. So the question is, if they from outer space, or inner space or any space in between, that is a question that we still don’t know, but we are fairly certain they’re not from here.
W Radio: Mr Elizondo, why the Pentagon wanted to have a secret program watching the phenomena and these UFOs? Why wouldn’t it publish this material this proof or this analysis that the Pentagon had?
Luis Elizando: I believe the answer is for two reasons. One, there is a tremendous social stigma or taboo against officially recognizing the phenomena and, two, I believe it is very difficult for any national security apparatus to have identified a problem or potential threat and not offer a solution. In this case you have phenomena that are in a certain air space. We do not know what it is, we do not know how it works, and there’s nothing we can do about it. And that is a very uncomfortable topic for any government to have internally or externally.
W Radio: Mr Elizondo, from the phenomena and incidents that you knew when you were at this program, what was the one that really surprised you or the one that you said, ok this is what makes me believe that there’s life outside of the Earth?
Luis Elizando: I think every day was a surprise. There was no one single incident. It was a slow steady flow of information coming in, either through eye-witness accounts or through radar or through video, that began to paint a very compelling picture for all of us.
I think furthermore for your listeners’ understanding, we are talking about objects that can be sub-categorized in five different observables. Those observables include extreme maneuverability, hyper-sonic velocities, low observability, transmedium travel and, lastly, positive lift without any type of obvious signs of aerodynamics or thrust, or propulsion. These objects are displaying characteristics that far exceed anything we know currently in the world’s inventory.
W Radio: Mr Elizando, regarding the name of the program at the Pentagon that you worked with, it is described as a ‘threat’, do you really think there is an actual threat from outer space to the Earth, to our planet?
Luis Elizando: I think in national security, we always have to assume anything can be a threat until we can prove it is not a threat…..as an example, we lock our doors and night, we turn on our alarm systems and we lock our windows because there is a potential there might be a threat. There probably won’t be, but there might be.
In this particular case, if you can imagine waking up every morning and seeing muddy boot prints in your living room, every morning even though you’ve locked your doors and you’ve locked your windows and your alarm is on.
In this particular case, nothing is stolen from your house, nothing is missing, no-one is hurt but at the end of the day you still have muddy boot-prints that aren’t yours in your house.
W Radio: Mr Elizando, I would like to ask your opinion around the possibility of this topic that these investigations and analysis, could be a main part of a President Trump administration or that this program could be re-opened in the near future?
Luis Elizando: Well, I think that’s a very good question. We, in the office that I came from, are all apolitical, meaning we don’t get paid to take sides, so whether it’s Democrat or Republican or an Independent in office is really inconsequential for us, but our hope is that whoever is in office, whether it’s Trump or it’s anybody else, we’ll look at the data and allow the data to speak for itself, then at that point, hopefully be able to increase funding and the necessary budget to continue the program in a far more robust manner.
I think it’s important for you listeners to know the program never went away. The program was never officially disestablished. Parts of the funding may have ended in 2012 but then more funding came in 2013 but more importantly than that, is that the effort was never stopped, never halted. So the program continues to move forward and in my opinion, whoever’s in charge, whoever is the President at the time, needs to allow the data to speak for itself and increase funding for additional research and analysis into the phenomena.
W Radio: Mr Elizando, there are two different scenarios: one is that life in outer space is possible and that it actually exists, and the other one, is that this different life that lives outside of Planet Earth might come to this planet and visit us. So this solid proof remains unknown for us to understand that this life really happens and they might come to Planet Earth. NASA hasn’t even recognized this possibility.
Why, if you have observed that there is life at outer space, no-one including NASA has recognized it?
Luis Elizando: Well, keeping in mind that NASA has already recognized the possibility in fact they funded in part our SETI program. SETI is by definition Search for Extra Terrestrial Intelligence and millions and millions of dollars were invested of US taxpayer money to build radio telescopes for exactly that purpose.
I would submit to you, if we are willing to invest millions of dollars on the off-chance we might hear a conversation somewhere in deep space, and here we have pilots who are in charge of multi-million dollar weapon systems with top secret clearances who are telling you they are seeing something right here, right now. I would submit to you, our money is probably better spent listening to the pilots and looking at the hard radar data, and looking at the videos, and trying to figure that out, instead of hoping that we might hear some conversation maybe ten million light years away.
NASA has already acknowledged the high degree of possibility that we are not alone in this universe.
I am not saying that what we are seeing here is necessarily outer space, or as I said before, or inner space or the space in between. I have my personal opinion. But if it’s not from here, it’s from somewhere else. The binary discussion of, is it from here, or is it from outer space from an alien or is it not – I’m not sure if that’s even the right question because there’s a lot of different scenarios and possibilities. I do not think it’s an either/or question. I think there are several other options of the origins of what we’re looking at.
W Radio: Mr Elizando, I would like to know your personal opinion about or around these UFOs might have for coming to Planet Earth or our planet – why would they want to do that?
Luis Elizando: All I can do is put this in a human context. So let’s look at this question from the human perspective. Why does mankind do anything we do and why do we explore the horizons? Sometimes we explore the horizons for our sheer curiosity. It’s in our DNA, it’s in our genetics. Other times we explore to exploit – to take resources and to do something that is to our advantage as a species.
Other times we do it to study and to learn. There’s many reasons why mankind goes… pushes the limits and goes beyond his horizon and it could well be the same thing for any other living organism out there.
Again I can only speak to the intentions looking at mankind and our history, why we do what we do.
There could be a whole range of reasons: they could be natural resources, it could be the fact that hydrogen is so abundant here in a very dense form with water, it could be to observe our evolution as a species, it could be reconnaissance, in some cases I’ve heard people say it could be what we refer to as preparation of the battlefield, you know, to determine if this planet we live on is something… that is something attractive for another species.
I can’t answer that question very well, cos it’s simply put – I just don’t know. I think there’s a whole, if you will, spectrum of reasons why something or someone should be interested in this planet. Why are we interested in Mars? Why are we interested in putting mankind on Mars? Why are we interested in putting human beings in outer space in space stations?
W Radio: Well Mr Luis Elizando thank you very much for being with us on W Radio. Have a good day.
| My book ‘UFO Contacts in Italy – Volume One’ will be published by FLYING DISK PRESS in the UK on February 1st, 2018. Much of the information in this book is being published in English for the very first time.
The book contains a whole array of UFO/alien contact cases from Italy but surely one of the most unusual incidents is this one from 1957. It is the only case that I am aware of that allegedly has photographs of the inside of the UFO.
What was destined to be called “the Friendship case” started near

With the recent revelation by the Pentagon and their admission that there has been an ongoing program to investigate Unidentified Aerial Phenomenon; the fact that Montana has had several cases of interest within that context came to mind.
First and foremost is the Mariana UFO incident from August 1950 when Nicolas Mariana filmed 16 mm color movies of two UFOs that appeared as shiny, circular craft. It has withstood years of research conducted by a slew of investigators, including the National Investigations Committee on Aerial Phenomena (NICAP), the Air Force, and Dr. Robert M. L. Baker, as well as others, without being debunked, and is believed to be one of the strongest cases supporting the existence of unidentified flying objects and remains unexplained.
Another extraordinary case in Montana happened at Malmstrom Air Force base in March 1967 when two maintenance crews reported seeing UFOs in the early morning hours over the E-Flight (missile) silos. Later that morning, one of the Minuteman missiles had gone off alert; meaning it had become inoperable. This was at one of the two sites where the maintenance crews had been stationed during the night.
Thinking this to be due to the crews doing maintenance or perhaps even neglecting their duty, crew commander, Figal, looked into the incident. Just as inexplicably, the entire flight of ten ICBMS went inoperable also; with all the missiles being reported a “No-Go” at this point. After a check was conducted, it was found that each of the missiles had gone off alert status due to a guidance and control fault and not due to a power outage. It has been conjectured that perhaps the UFO had caused the missiles to become inoperable, as the cause was unknown.
I discovered this next case, Mutual UFO Network (MUFON) Case #55741, after I became MUFON’s State Director of the Montana chapter through the Case Assistance Group. I was doing a bit of inventory and getting some background information on the types of cases that Montana had been dealing with. Even though I had been a Field Investigator for Michigan for over seven years, this was my first stint as a State Director, thus I wanted to be as prepared as I could. Montana, with its “big sky,” fewer city lights to block out the stars and breath-taking mountain ranges, is a sky-watcher’s dream and definitely different than what I was used to living in an urban area.
This incident, listed on the database as a CE-2, happened at around midnight on May 10, 2004 when an entire Army Special Forces unit saw an unknown spherical shaped object through night vision goggles while on security duty in Kabul, Afghanistan. Kabul, the largest city in Afghanistan, is the capital of Kabul Province and is located along the eastern sector of the country. It has a population of 3.3 million people and is the largest city in Afghanistan. Geographically it sits 5876 feet above sea level between the Hindu Kush Mountains along the Kabul River. The climate, which tends to be cooler than rest of the Southwest Asia due to the elevation, is semi-arid with most of the precipitation occurring in the winter months, usually as snow.
In his report, the Montana resident stated that while out on detail in Kabul, Afghanistan, he and an entire Army unit of fifteen men witnessed a UFO. The witness stated he was unsure of the exact date but felt it was around May 10th of that year. He stated that this craft was “huge” and was so close they could have thrown a rock at it and hit it. He said it seemed to come out of nowhere and floated over one of the mountains from the south which was east of the base they built. The object made no noise. The bizarre thing was that he could not see it with the naked eye, but it could be seen through his night vision goggles. He described the object has having the appearance of a light bulb but was a sphere and was about the size of the moon in comparison. He said it had a translucent appearance but was glowing, lighting up the surrounding area with its lights. When they saw it, they stopped and looked in amazement and awe.
As they watched it, it was hovering about 50-100 feet in the air, moving slowly about five to ten mph. It was about 100 yards from the outside perimeter of the base camp and as they were watching the craft, their commander was at the base camp, about a quarter of a mile to the southwest of their position. The commander could also see the object. He got on the radio and announced to the unit to “get back to work, its nothing,” meaning the craft they were looking at.
The squad leader was in the passenger seat and his friend was driving. He stated they were “pulling roaming security” from one traffic control point to the other from the south of the base to the north of their base camp. After their commander told them to go back to work, they watched this craft for about ten more minutes before they had to turn around and head back north. The craft stopped about ¼-mile northeast of their position and appeared to stop over campfire that some locals had made.
The UFO then shot out a beam at their camp, but they couldn’t see the base of the fire from where they were, just the flickering of it on the back of the mountain. They could not see what was happening down on the ground with that beam of light. In the meantime, their squad leader stopped watching and wanted to go back to work, so the specialist turned the Humvee around and they started driving north to the north T.C.P.
The witness stated he wanted to keep watching the object, but they lost sight of it when they left because a hill blocked their view; which was the same hill that blocked the beam they had seen. After a minute of driving north he observed that the object had taken off from over the local’s campsite. He stated it took off at a rapid speed, making in a 90-degree angle straight up until they could no longer see it. To him it appeared that the lights on the craft seemed to have a delayed reaction because the craft took off so fast, what he said was an alarming rate. It made dashes of light across the sky as it did, then it was gone. His report to MUFON was the first time that he had told anyone about this incident besides his family.
William Puckett, was the lead investigator for this case and did an excellent job investigating this reported sighting. He concluded at that time that this was an Unknown and closed the case on April 10, 2014. I looked over the information that was listed on the report and listened to the audio clip interview given by the witness. I felt him to be credible, giving good details in a coherent, factual manner. I didn’t detect anything in his manner of speaking that would indicate intentional deception.
Given the increased interest in cases involving military personnel with the revelation that the Pentagon has had a program to investigate UFOs, maybe this next case needs to be looked into further. One thing that stood out when listening to his interview was that he mentioned being in the Paktika Province of Afghanistan, not Kabul and that the mission was secret. Another question I had was that if the object could only be seen through infrared glasses, were they all wearing them? He states that all fifteen of them saw the object. Also notable is the fact that his commander, who was at the base camp, was seeing the object too a quarter of a mile away, so it’s possible that there were many more witnesses to this object.
As it is stands now, it is just one of the thousands of cases reported by military personnel who have either witnessed or interacted with a UFO. While doing research of the MUFON CMS database, 157 such cases were found where the military was somehow involved; either by witnesses stating UFOs were chased by military craft, usually F-16s, or former military personnel were reporting their own experiences to MUFON. Thus, like those 157 cases that I personally found amongst the files, this case remains unknown. Nevertheless, this case stands out as significant if only for the fact that these men were Special Forces Security Unit, and by virtue of their training, were excellent and reliable observers; even if they hadn’t been on duty and on high alert. While it is only the opinion of this Field Investigator, and no supporting evidence has been found, like videos or photos, it might be worthwhile to make further attempt at contacting the four others listed in the report in an effort to get a clearer picture of this sighting. While these three cases may be exceptionable, they may not be the last.
