Open Question: WHAT is tryin to do to me? EX troubles?

Me and my boyfriend have been on and off for 3 years.. we recently got back together 3 months ago and things have been great, perfect almost. He was dating this girl for a month before he got back together with me, and he basically left her for me but she doesnt know.. he doesn't wanna tell her becuz he "doesn't wanna hurt her".. i understood that we keep it a secret from her for sometime, he also told me that he wanted to stay friends and I understood too. But yesterday he cancelled a preplanned trip that we had made for a weekend for my birthday becuz she was on the same flight and he doesnt want her to know that we're going away together!!!!!!!! I thought it was ridiculous. What is going on with him am I being unreasonable to think this keeping a relationship on the dl is going too far?? Or should understand and cancel the trip??
